Strengthening The Family

We recognize that Healthy Families include not only two-parent families, but one-parent families: a father raising his children alone or a mother raising her children alone. Healthy Families also include blended or step families with your/mine/our children. Healthy Families also include extended family members raising children, like a grandmother or aunt. Healthy Families come in all shapes and sizes. We are here to help support them all.

We recognize that Healthy Relationships include married partners, unmarried partners, and singles who know that someday they will be in a relationship. We want to help them no matter what their relationship looks like.

We recognize that all kids need Healthy Parenting. We want to help all parents, grandparents, stepparents, and others who fill the role of a parent from time to time, in developing the skills needed to raise healthy kids. Parenting with Love & Logic® is our chosen method of parenting training. It helps take the anger and frustration out of parenting and helps raise responsible kids.

How can we help you? Free Workshops: As part of a federal grant we are able to offer, at no charge to couples or single fathers, a free 10-hour program called Pathways to Responsible Fatherhood. The 10 hours include 2 hours of private coaching in the areas of Workforce Advancement and Financial Stability. It also includes an 8-hour weekend workshop in which participants will learn more about healthy relationships (3 hours on Friday night), healthy fatherhood (3 hours on Saturday morning), and be introduced to the highly successful Parenting with Love & Logic® (2 hours Saturday afternoon). A free box lunch will be provided to Saturday workshop participants. Incentives-to-Participate: Upon completion of the 10-hour program, each family unit (a couple or a single father) will receive a gift card. Another gift card will be given to each family unit upon completion of the three-month follow-up survey. Reduced fees for private counseling: We have several counselors who have agreed to reduce their usual fees for our program participants. Let us help you find a counselor for your particular needs: marriage, pre-marriage, family, anger, depression, children's issues, etc. Special classes and workshops for your church or community organization: Our presenters would be more than willing to come to your organization and present a specialized workshop for your group.
